Here's a bit of a history lesson for the weekend......

The early 1980’s were the golden years for the 1/10 scale off road RC car. Leading the way was Team Associated’s RC10, which was the buggy to beat.

The RC10 dominated the off-road racing scene worldwide and won the first ever IFMAR Off Road World Championships held in 1985, in Del Mar, California. Jay Halsey ‘Jammin Jay’ ran away with the race, becoming the first ever IFMAR World Champion.

This 5 part video series gives you a look back at two decades ago to what RC cars use to be like.

Enjoy!

I thought I'd start this blog about "fully sick RC" stuff, on the history of radio control vehicles and where it all began.....

Like a lot of new technology, especially technology that can be used in war. The armed forces of the world developed it, to become a weapon. Notably the Germans during WWII, on their missile programs followed by the allies. Check out Project Aphrodite for an interesting read.

The first radio control vehicle was a boat. Invented by one of the greatest engineers of all time, Nikola Tesla. That used it to entertain an amazed audience that thought they controlled it.

It wasn't until the 1950's that radio control was introduced into the general market. Which has developed as fast as the computer chip. Enabling you and I to fly and drive our RC vehicles and for the military to fly and drive theirs.

As a result of the invention of Radio Control, we can have freedom and feel the freedom when we do that "fully sick" barrel roll with our RC Mustang.
