Imagine, after crashing your RC airplane or RC car, breaking the landing gear or breaking the suspension bracket in your RC car. Going to a 3D printer that's in your garage, scanning the broken bit. Then printing out a brand new one in a few hours and then back to flying or bashing.

This technology has been around for years. But only now is it becoming affordable for the serious enthusiast. Even though plastic/foam can only be printed to shape, you can still print out mounds for metal parts.
This kind of technology opens upon huge potential in the "hack industry" or the RC'er that just wants to make a custom body or new wheel design for his RC drifter.
This means we/I could design my own airplane or airplane parts like ducted fan blades. Then sell them, competing with other RC designers and the big manufactures. Forcing big manufacturers to make products with better quality and a lot cheaper. Resulting in a move innovative, cheaper hobby industry to get into.
I mean who doesn't like cheap quality fun??
