Money saving tips for RC Cars.

In times like this. The first things to go, is the stuff you spend you disposable income on. Like RC cars.
I have come up with a list of money saving ways, to hopefully keep your RC car on the road.
Please add to the list any other tips or tricks you may have.

• Switch from 33% nitro to 22%. - it's cheaper and the loss in performance is minor. ( or buy a HPI Baja 5B SS, they use regular unleaded mixed with 2 stroke oil. Also your lawn mower uses the same mix. So you save even more )
• Use rechargeable batteries - bite the bullet and get yourself a descent set of batteries and charger.
  
• Go brushless - brushless motors should last forever ( in theory ) Which means no more replacing brushes.
• Get a Lipo balancer - you should always charge Lipos with a balancer for safety sake and keeps them in top condition.
• Use harder compound tyres - if you are the casual basher, you won't even notice the difference.
• Use servo savers - servos can be very expensive.
• Don't skip on quality - you get what you pay for, so if that expensive cover protects your performance exhaust from rollovers. It's worth the extra buck.
• Be brand loyal - nine times outta ten the manufactures use the same parts between buggy's and truggy's. Like suspension towers. Check out who's who in the industry.
  
• Buy the popular RC cars at your local hobby shop - this means you have a better chance they will stock spares and know what they are talking about.
• Most important one is Maintenance - cleaning,oiling and doing a once over every know and then will help stop a chain reaction in spare parts. For example, your wheel hub cracked, you didn't notice. Two minutes into the next bash session, bang. The wheel hub split open. Expensive bearings lost and bent turnbuckle is the result. Time and big dollars down the drain. Good maintenance equals good performance and less head and heart ache!
